The purpose of this grant is to provide educational programs for fathers/father figures and their families. The audience to be reached is fathers/father figures ages 18 and up in Todd (western) and Wolfe (eastern) counties. Todd County has 61% of its children on free and reduced lunch (185% of poverty) and Wolfe County has 78% (Kids Count, 2011).
The purpose of the program is to create an environment that allows intimate partner violence (IPV) child and adult victims to obtain resources/skills necessary to break the cycle of IPV. The goal is to decrease the number of IPV disputes by empowering victims and communities to create safe, caring neighborhoods through education, intervention, and family support via multi-disciplinary procedures.
