Nutrition

This section includes instruments and scales that assess various aspects of Nutrition. Areas addressed include: behavior related to body weight, dietary behavior, diet knowledge, self-efficacy for healthy eating, and the degree to which a person's motivation for eating a healthy diet is autonomous or self-determined.

Instrument Description
Body Weight Behavior
(Middle School)

This is a 7-item subscale to assess behavior related to body weight.

Diet Knowledge
(Girls Ages 8-10)

This 6-item measure is designed to assess diet knowledge in girls ages 8-10.

Dietary Behavior
(High School)

This 15-item measure assesses dietary behavior.  The 2009 version includes two subsections: behaviors related to body weight and dietary intake behaviors.

Dietary Self-Regulation
(Adults)

This 15-item scale assesses the degree to which a person’s motivation for eating a healthy diet is autonomous or self-determined. This questionnaire is for non-commercial purposes only.

Self-Efficacy for Healthy Eating
(Girls Ages 8-10)

This 9-item measure is designed to determine self-efficacy for healthy eating.
